…. more information on the PAG

The PAG has supported the development of the TOPs research study. Their input has led to the study considering issues such as how thumb OA affects participation in daily life, and exploring the experience of care from a patient perspective.

This group has also advised on and tested out the questionnaires, the study information, and the website design.
The group met prior to funding, helping to define the research questions, and influencing research design.

Patients stressed that changes in habits and hand use are required to settle symptoms, and that the benefits of exercise emerge slowly. They, therefore, suggest that “at least” 6-month outcomes are important to them.

The PAG will continue to meet to support the study as we recruit and follow up with participants, analyse, and share the results.
